We wanted to create something anyone, from any generation, could wear and feel connected to. The Barbed Wave Collection is our evolution of It Comes in Waves, reimagined across our new chore jacket, hoodie, quarter zip, casual jacket and beanie. Barbed wire is destructive by design. Relentlessly tearing through whatever comes into contact with it.
Originated from the idea of surviving episodes of pain and trauma revisiting us in sets of waves, being held under, only to be given a handful fleeting chances to catch our breathe before being forced beneath the surface again. The barbed wire illustrates a deeper damage that can be lasting, even when the waves have passed we are still left to keep our heads above the water with our wounds still stinging in the salt, impatiently staring at the horizon, not knowing when the next set will come. The Barbed Wave Collection honours the fighters and survivors of this feeling.
